Saxony-Anhalt

Rhineland-Palatinate Hesse Lower Saxony Brandenburg Mecklenburg-West Pomerania Saxony-Anhalt Saxony Schleswig-Holstein Saarland Bavaria Baden-Württemberg Burgenland County
On 1 July 1994, Burgenland County was created in the course of the local boundary reform. Around 137,581 people live in an area of 1,041 square kilometres.
Since the middle of the 19th century, the economic development of Burgenland County as it is today has been very closely linked to the emergence of the industrial area in central Germany, and a wide variety of branches is to be found there. After Reunification, the food processing industry adapted particularly rapidly to the new conditions. The logistics branch, the establishment of which has depended decisively on the provision of trading areas by the A9 motorway, is a field which is flourishing. A lot of firms manufacturing and trading building materials have also established themselves in our region in recent years.
In Burgenland County there are over 600 farms. The vineyards on the Saale, Unstrut and Elster are an important economic aspect as well as being a significant factor for tourism.

  Saxony-Anhalt
Saxony-Anhalt has made industrial history. The chemical industry, mechanical engineering and vehicle manufacture have been at the centre of industrial development and technical progress here since the middle of the last century. Now this young federal state is at the heart of Europe. A well expanded infrastructure, qualified human resources, and a scientific environment with universities and research institutes make this area attractive to investors.
Saxony-Anhalt is a tourist area into the bargain. The wine-growing area and the castles by the Rivers Saale and Unstrut are just as inviting as a visit to the Harz region or a rural break in the Altmark.
