Lower Saxony

Rhineland-Palatinate Hesse Lower Saxony Brandenburg Mecklenburg-West Pomerania Saxony-Anhalt Saxony Schleswig-Holstein Saarland Bavaria Baden-Württemberg County of Oldenburg
The County of Oldenburg lies between the towns of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst/ Bremen and the Oldenburger Münsterland in the Weser-Ems provincial administrative district. In the course of the Oldenburg administrative reform, it was created in 1933 from the former district of Wildeshausen and parts of the former districts of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst. It was given its present almost circular shape during the local boundary reform in 1977.

The County of Oldenburg has 7 local government districts and one collective district encompassing 8 parishes.
The area is made particularly attractive by its sound infrastructure and appealing housing development, its obvious residential and recreational values, and its diverse and attractive countryside with many footpaths and cycling routes. Land near the numerous motorway exits in the County of Oldenburg is used for commercial locations that are readily accessible.

Lower Saxony

A population of 7.8 million lives here in an area covering 47,000 square kilometres. Thus Lower Saxony is the second largest state with the fourth biggest population in the Federal Republic. Lower Saxony was established in 1946 from the districts of Hanover, Oldenburg, Braunschweig and Schaumburg-Lippe.
62% of the state is put to agricultural use, and 21% are forested. All the same, Lower Saxony is not an agricultural state any more: only 4% of the 3.3 million bread-winners work in farming.
Of international importance are above all the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, the Oldenburger Münsterland as an intensive farming region, and the city of Hanover with its trade fair and CeBIT exhibition.
In cooperation with the federal state of Bremen we will built in this time the Metropolitan Area "Bremen - Oldenburg".
